The 3rd Joint Conference & 2019 Board Meeting of Jilin University Overseas Confucius Institutes was successfully held at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on October 22nd, 2019.
Prof. Zhao Hongwei, Vice President of Jilin University was invited to attend the conference. Representatives from Confucius Institute at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Confucius Institute at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Confucius Institute at the University of Buenos Aires and Confucius Institute at Hanyang University attended the conference and delivered speeches. Focusing on “Improving Teaching Resources and Methods in the Confucius Institutes” “Building a Diversified Project System in the Confucius Institutes” “Improving Academic Level in the Confucius Institutes” and “ ‘Chinese+’ and Featured Development of the Confucius Institutes”, the representatives shared their opinions on the construction of Confucius Institutes and discussed on the future development plans.
On the morning of October 22nd, Prof. Leonid Huberskyi,Rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Wang Dajun, First Secretary of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Ukraine attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Prof. Zhao Hongwei delivered a keynote speech entitled Common Progress with Deepened Cooperation and Innovative Development. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Petro Bekh, Vice-Rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
On the afternoon of October 22nd, the Annual Board Meeting of Jilin University Overseas Confucius Institutes was held.
Representatives deliberated and adopted the new board members’ name list of each Confucius Institute.
Jilin University and its overseas Confucius Institutes’ partner universities decided that the Joint Conference & Annual Board Meeting of Jilin University Overseas Confucius Institutes should be held regularly from 2017 onwards for connotation-oriented development of Confucius Institutes. So far, the conference has been successfully held for three years.
